Winner in Integrated Campaigns and Advertising at German Design Award 2018

German Design Award (GDA) 2018 was held grandly in Frankfurt German. Award winners of each category were announced at the festival. Dans Digital’s T4·Logo became a winner in GDA 2018 after swept four heavy-weighted international competitions. For a work which is made three years ago, it is really an unexpected surprise to win out.

German Design Award(GDA) was set up in 1969, and it is officially the highest level design award in German. The competition is so fierce that is is regarded as the most valuable award among all the famous design awards in the world. The most special part of this competition is its judging process. Different from other competitions, entrants cannot submit their works to German Design Awards by themselves, the entry must be nominated by the Ministries and Senators of the Federal States or by the Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology.

T4·Logo has been awarded several awards in world-famous advertising competitions, the work became The Best VFX at CICLOPE International Festival of Craft 2014, won Gold Award in the Category VFX and Motion Graphics at EVCOM Screen Awards 2016, and received Bronze Award in the Visual Effects of Production & Post-Production at LIA 2016. Because of these awards, the work came to the fore on the international stage and was therefore noticed by German Design Award, it is an honor for Dans Digital to enter into the most prestigious competition of the world.
The award ceremony of the German Design Award 2018 took place on 09 February 2018 in the context of the Ambiente fair in Frankfurt am Main. Over 1200 distinguished politicians, economists, designers and publishers presented in the award ceremony. And the annual event is German’s most important design activity.

Established on the initiative of the German Bundestag (the lower house of German parliament) and awarded by the Design Award of the Federal Republic of Germany, the competition has a very strict selection process, so does the judging process. German Design Award 2018 nominated qualified award-winning entries from over 50 countries of the world, and the works which achieved prizes in the competition were even less. This year, the competition replaced “silver awards” with “winner”, and the selection process is more rigorous than ever, the competition is, therefore, more fierce.
German Design Award 2018 set up 3 categories, they are Excellent Product Design, Excellent Communications Design, and Universal Design. T4·Logo became a winner of Integrated Campaigns and Advertising under Excellent Communications Design. And the statement of the jury of German Design Awards is that it is “A promotional film that is as visually impressive, as it is fascinating.

This year, all the award-winning works under Excellent Communications Design category were presented at the Museum für Angewandte Kunst for 8 days. And the ancient museum which was built in 1888 shone forth because of these modern designs.

From advertising awards to design awards, the work which combined the beauty of rhythm, color, and visual effect kept bring us surprises constantly, and it gives us great encouragement. It tells us that people’s aesthetics are universal, as long as you do your best to refine your work, it will be seen by people. And we felt that the 94 weeks hard work to create the film was very worthy.
